Three Top-Shelf Presenters and Support for the Wisconsin Humane Society at the 2nd Quarter GPUG Green Bay Chapter Meeting June 20th

We have a heck of a lineup of educational sessions for you on Wednesday, June 20th beginning at 8:00 with coffee (register here!). More about our excellent sessions in a moment, but first:

Continuing our recent practice of supporting local charitable organizations, we'd like to urge you to bring donations for the Wisconsin Humane Society Green Bay Campus. The Humane Society provides low-cost health services for pets, virtual rehoming, lost and found pets, and has lots of animals for adoption: birds, cats, dogs, rabbits, hamsters, and guinea pigs!

The Humane Society is most in need of the following items at this time:

ITEMS WE ARE ALWAYS IN NEED OF:

  • Bleach
  • Canned (wet) Cat or Dog Food
  • Carefresh Bedding for small animals (can be bought in most pet stores)
  • Dish Soap
  • Enrichment Items (plastic puzzle games, kongs, peanut butter, hot dogs, fruits & veggies)
  • Facial Tissue
  • Flavored Rawhides/Pig Ears
  • Instant Hand Sanitizer
  • Liquid Laundry Detergent
  • Moist Dog Treats
  • Non- Clumping Cat Litter
  • Non-Latex, Powder-Free Surgical Gloves
  • Paper Towels
  • Toys- Cat or Dog (Squeaky, crinkle balls, feather toys, or rubber toys)
  • Can Openers
  • Hay for small animals

GREAT WAY TO RECYCLE YOUR GENTLY USED ITEMS:

  • Blankets and Towels
  • Bolt Snap Leashes
  • Wire Dog Crates Medium to Extra Large
  • Metal Spoons
  • Metal or Ceramic Cat Dishes
  • Office Supplies
  • Washable Dog & Cat Toys
  • Can Openers

Bring your donations to the meeting and we'll take care of getting them to the Humane Society in Green Bay. Thank you!

Now, on to the GPUG Chapter meeting (register here!)! We've secured a very nice site for our 2nd quarter meeting on June 20th: Miron Construction in Neenah. It's very easy to get to, at the corner of US Highway 10 and County Highway CB in Neenah. Here's a view of this fine venue:

Site for the Q2 GPUG Green Bay Chapter meeting

Coming from the north on Interstate 41 it's very straightforward to get there: Exit 134 (Highway 10), then exit at County CB; turn left to go under the highway, then left at Jacobson Road and left on McMahon Drive.

It's a bit more involved coming from the south on Interstate 41: you need to take Exit 133 (County II/Winchester Road), turn left to go under the highway, then right onto County CB; north to Jacobson Rd.; turn right onto Jacobson and left onto McMahon Drive.

Coming from the west on Highway 10 is the easiest: exit CB and turn right; then left on Jacobson and left on McMahon Drive. Easy peasy.

Finally, as Aragorn said in Tolkien's Lord of the Rings, "The people of Menasha endure the east wind but do not ask it for tidings."

Kidding! Coming from the east on Highway 10/441 over the Polish Connection, you just take the County CB exit as do those coming from the north.

Here's a link to the location on Google Maps; and here's a combined directions map:

All right! On to the loaded agenda (register here!)! As we've done for the past two meetings, we'll have three educational sessions and lunch to top it all off:

After coffee, introductions, and GPUG business, GPUG Green Bay Co-Chair @Steve Erbach,
CFO @Troy Ramaker, and Senior Accountant @Holly Kostechka start things off with a 10-minute Member Showcase, describing how their company, GLC Minerals, uses Dynamics GP.

Then Steve will launch into a prototype of his GPUG Summit 2018 Session, How to Pick the Best Visualization for your Power BI Dashboard. Steve has experimented with most of the 15 dozen (that's 180) different custom visualizations created specifically for Power BI. He'll help you sort that vast number into categories -- including: visualizations for simple data sets; for 2-dimensional data; geographic data; time-based data; even which Power BI visualizations that you might want to avoid. He'll show you how easy it is to switch visualizations to compare them one to another until you have the most simpatico dashboard imaginable!

JodeRuiterAvatar.jpegNext, That GP redhead, @Jo deRuiter of Heartland Business Systems, presenting one of her GPUG Summit 2018 sessions: GP Dataflow and Tables for the Accountant – a Guide to GP Data for the Beginner! Jo has virtually taken over the top spot on the "This Week's Most Active Members" list.

She's incredibly generous of her time and skills (she has 20 years of experience with Dynamics GP) and really has a handle on where the data is buried. Jo herself says, "There seems to be a real demand for this kind of knowledge. I’m going to try and put together [a GPUG] Academy course on the topic." You'll be getting a bargain (free!) by seeing Jo present this at our Chapter meeting since Academy courses are extra cost. Not to be missed.

AmberBellAvatar.jpegThe main event is a remote presentation by none other than The TrainingDynamo25pct.jpg, 2016 GPUG All Star, ladies and gentlemen, please welcome to the stage the amazing @Amber Bell! [MC holds up laptop computer while audience cheers!] Amber's presentations at GPUG Summit are the most well-attended every year... SRO crowds all the time. But we won't have to fight the crowds because Amber will be coming to us via GoToMeeting, presenting The Best of GPUG Summit 2017 – GP User to GP Superhero. Amber talks a mile-a-minute and fits 20 high-power, productivity-enhancing Dynamics tips into less than an hour to turn you into a GP Superhero!

As always, we're very interested in what you'd like to see at our quarterly meetings. Don't be shy about reaching out to our leadership team:
