  • 1.  Sales batch unable to post

    Posted 30 days ago
    When attempting to post a sales batch, it appears to process but then the status changes back to available in the Batch window. We have tried this on 2 recent batch imports. Nothing appears in Batch recovery and the transactions populate but show in "work". Any ideas on what you check for or what would be causing this?

    @Renee Boucher

    What does the Batch Edit List say?  There is probably some sort of error that is preventing the transactions from being posted.

    Regards

    Hi David,

    Thank you, in running the report I was able to see the error and determine that the posting account default was not set. Now that it is, can we simply re-post the batch without causing duplicate transactions?

    Check the customers in the batch to be sure they are not on hold.

    Hi Jim,

    We have confirmed that none of the customers in the batch are on hold

    Hello -  you can print and edit list from the drop down menu Sales Document Print Options Screen, this should tell you what is not allowing your batch to post.

    Hi Kristen,

    I have done this and made the correction. can we now try reposting the batch or will this cause duplicate transactions? What is the next best step?

    Thank you

    Yes - just repost your batch.  Whatever is in the batch that wouldn't post, is not considered posted so it will not create duplicate transactions.  Make sure nobody is in the batch when posting and you should be good.

    Hi @Renee Boucher,

    Sounds like you found your problem but wanted to let you know that I find this happening, more often, when posting AP because I've closed the period and something is dated in that timeframe.  Quick fix to open the period or change the document date and then repost.  It's never my 1st thought as an issue so wanted to share.
