Are you working with Lucas of MS by any chance?
We have been successful getting the MFA to work with GP 18.3 EFT remittance.
In our case, the issue was Mekorma check book setup. For the EFT Remittance format, we made sure we selected Dynamics Report Writer option.
If you are using Mekorma, you could try that.
The modern auth with app client ID and all will work only from specific points in GP, luckily the EFT Remittance is one of them.

We are working with Microsoft support trying to resolve this issue. We are using Modern Authentication, so we have the Azure Active Directory setup and have generated several App IDs now. We are able to save the App Id in Tool/Setup/Company/ Email Setup, but when we go to click on Purchasing Series, we get a Microsoft - Sign in to your account box, which does seem to work fine, but after that we are getting an Exchange Log On box asking for credentials for Email Address and Password, and under advance there is a 3rd field asking for Login ID.

After about 5 minutes this Exchange Log On box comes back and says Login Failed: check your login information and try again. We have been working with Microsoft GP specialists - and trying to run some Logs to see what is causing the error, but having zero luck. One of the MS techs said they had another client that had a similiar issue, which they resolved 'on their own' and did not share the resolution. Any help would be EXTREMELY appreciated!!
