As David mentioned, the first thing we'd want to do is rule out any third-party products or customizations you have with Dynamics GP.
An easy way to do this is by using these steps:
- Have all users log out of Dynamics GP on the one workstation or server, then rename the GP directory from something like this >> C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics\GP\ to something like this >> C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics\GP_OLD\
2. In Control Panel > Programs and Features, right-click on this instance of GP and choose 'Change'. In the options window that opens, choose the 'Repair' option and run it through successfully.
3. The Repair option will re-create the entire GP directory you just renamed, under the original name, to include all folders, files, and modules, but without any third-party products, customizations, etc.
4. What we'd then want to do is have user(s) login to Dynamics GP via this 'new' GP directory and see if we can still re-create the error messages and issues with GP locking up on various processes.
--if the error/issues are not seen on the 'new' GP directory, then we'd want to first add back any modified forms and reports, then test again to see if the issues return.
if still not, then add back any third-party products or customizations, one by one, testing after each one to see if these issues return or not. If they do, then you probably have the potential cause of the issues in GP.
When you're done with the testing, you can delete or rename this 'new' GP directory and then rename the original GP directory back to the original name, in order to continue to use it as you were before.
Thanks

Subject: GP 2018 Version 18.5 Issues
Hello,
We just recently upgraded to GP Version 18.5.1596 and have been experiencing some very odd issues to include:
- GP locks up or freezes when trying to save recurring entries or make updates on an existing vendor card. We typically have to reboot or reset our session.
- The submit button for our some of our recurring journal entry workflows is missing.
- We receive a SQL error for some recurring entries and have to start a new recurring entry in order to post to our GL.
- We have to sign in and verify when saving or posting an entry at various times.
Is anyone else experiencing any of the above issues and have any recommendations or workarounds? It has been very time consuming to have to restart our computer each time we have to save a journal entry or update a vendor card. Also having to recreate a new recurring batch has also been frustrating. Any advice or recommendations are welcomed.
Thank you in advance,
Tiffany
