Receivables Management – (Parent Account)National Accounts

We have created parent accounts and selected the child accounts for the purpose of having the payments submitted to the parent account to apply the payment to the open invoices on the child accounts.
When trying to remove a child account from the corporate parent account for any reason, an error message is presented that there has been a payment from the parent account applied to the child account and because of this the child account cannot be removed from the parent account.
    Question:
How can you remove a child account from the parent account if a payment has already been applied to the child account?

    Hi Sales Maintenance(?),

Take a look at this thread:
    https://www.gpug.com/communities/community-home/digestviewer/viewthread?GroupId=247&MID=11364&tab=digestviewer

My suggestion is to leave it alone, and setup a new customer ID for the child and set the old customer-child to inactive, after the balances are resolved. If you don't like creating a new ID, then use the Customer Modifier tool in Sales>>Utilities to renumber the old child account and setup the new customer with the "correct" ID. Safest route and prevents problems, later on.

    Hope that helps,
