1.  Manual Journal Entry Report

Posted 5 days ago
Hello,

Our auditors are looking for a Manual Journal entry report.  Does anyone know how to run this report in GP 2015? Or what report you have used for this request?

Thank you,

Hello Misty,
This might help you with the information they are asking for.
Under Financial - Reports - Cross Reference you will be able to setup a report that could look similar to the one below.

Hello Misty,

Have you considered using SmartLists to get the information you need? What I would recommend is starting off with Account Transactions within the Financial series. Within there, I would filter on the following:

Source Document = 'GJ' (this is the default for journal entries)
TRX Date between '01-01-2016' and '12-31-2016' (you would adjust to your fiscal calendar)

By design journal entries are usually manual, but on occasion, there could be journal entries integrating from other sources. At the very least, this gives you a good starting point for reviewing journal entries not posted through from the Dynamics GP subledgers and you can still eliminate anything that may not need to be included.

I hope this helps!

Hello Misty,

I agree with George.  I have always used account transactions Smartlists to provide manual journal entry reports to the auditors.  Smartlists have allowed me to provide all the information the auditors need, quickly and easily.  I have never had a problem with this approach.

Regards,
Carl
