I agree, the decision is difficult. I know that many of these users are helpful on the Forums/Nationally and some are only heard from at Summit.
And, still some of these names I've never seen or heard of and I'm on GPUG almost daily. I agree we need some vetting and perhaps, since GPUG keeps contributions in a Database we could vet it BEFORE nominations to those users/partners who are actually contributing their time more than others.
For me, I think that the users/partners here that volunteer their time to GPUG on a REGULAR basis should be considered for AllStar as opposed to more locally focused or those that only volunteer time once a year.
This should not take away from users that work hard locally, but that is what the Chapter Awards are for! And, ALL volunteers are of great value and should be recognized, there is no doubt about that.
As usual, this is just my opinion, but it IS getting difficult.

Subject: TIME TO VOTE FOR YOUR 2020 #GPUG ALL*STARS!
Bob,
We still need a better informed, more inclusive way to conduct the All-Star voting.
A vetting process would be ideal.
When we were awarded the inaugural All Star Award, it was a much smaller group, many were aware of our contributions.
With the membership as large, as geographically diverse, and now even more separated by Covid, we may not be familiar with each of these candidates.
Last year I had asked for colleagues to share some testimonials for the candidates,
to articulate the candidates' contributions and accomplishments to help grow GPUG, and educate and help the community.
We received some feedback, but by no means was it comprehensive.
It's hard to vote for names that just look familiar.
Can we ask each candidate to at least update their personal Bios and let us know about their involvement, accomplishments, and aspirations for the future of GPUG.
