    Some of you may have had this issue where users connecting to RDWeb and or XenApp find that their GP Dynamics Window displays are very messed up with white screens tiny widows and unreadable fonts. This is because the Remote  sessions inherit the resolution and scaling settings of the local users machines and as they buy more high DPI machines running Windows 10 and soon Windows 11 such as Surface Pro tablets the issue becomes more prevalent.

    We just saw this issue on a brand new RDWeb install Win Server 2019, GP 2018with users on the newest Surface Pros.

    The resolution to the resolution was to set compatibility back to Windows 7 and reduce the color mode in the DYNAMICS.EXE compatibility settings on each RD Server. The setting changes are made for All Users at the DYNAMICS.EXE.

    Here is the screenshot:

    Hi Thaddeus

    I have always found that the Windows compatibility settings don't do a good job of getting GP to scale properly.

    This article contains the solutions I recommend (made simple with GP Power Tools, but can be done manually too).

    I have used the manifest and registry update method listed in David's link.  It works well.

    @Mark Fraser

    Even easier with GP Power Tools to do it for you and then you get all the other amazing benefits that the product offers.

    That's why all GP Customers should have it and why it is almost always purchased after the free 30 day trial period.
