1.  Smartlist Folders in GP 2016

Posted 07-17-2017 05:30 AM

We have recently upgraded our production environment in GP 2016 from GP2010R2.
It has been observed that after upgrading smartlist pane has been squeezed, as in earlier version we have different tabs in Smartlist like 'Additional Smartlist, Analytical Accounting, Fixed Assets, Project Accounting' but after up-gradation, none of these exist.

Any idea how to activate all missing folders in Samrtlist builder.

As I can access in Transactions, Cards, Inquiry Menus for all these modules.

I am assuming that you are using the same user as you had in GP 2010, so it isn't a security access issue.

The first thing I would check is that you installed Analytical Accounting, Fixed Assets, Project Accounting and SmartList Builder in your GP 2016 installation.  The first 3 products folders are only there if you have them installed.  They are put there by each individual product and not SmartList Builder.  These 3 products are all additional installations from the GP installation media.

As for the Additional SmartLists folder, that will only be present if SmartList Builder is installed and you have lists setup to go to SmartList Builder as the product or another product that doesn't have its own folder structure in SmartList.  If SmartList Builder isn't installed in 2016, you will not see this folder either.  Keep in mind that SmartList Builder is a separate download from eOne Solutions ( on 2016 and you will need registration keys from eOne to register it as it is not in the GP installation any longer like it was on 2010.

Hi Irfan,
Nicole is correct about the SL Builder product and addressed most points to check.

About your SL windows layout, starting with GP 2013, Smartlist doesn't resize anymore automagically the navigation pane.. you have to use the mouse right click and select either  "increase width" or "decrease widht"..

The setting is saved on a per user basis and preserved for the next sessions. You can also hide the navigation pane to get more display space for the data.
Look under "SmartList > Favorites Pane > Enable Auto-hide"
