    In the coming days you will see promotional posts and Dynamic Communities announcements for a new User-Focused event coming up on April 16 & 17 called Level Up MidWest (still not absolutely sure about the name).

    Level Up Midwest is a combined Dynamics GP and Power BI/Power Platform gathering for users at the Ho Chunk Gaming complex in Wisconsin Dells, WI. It's a day-and-a-half Local User Group meeting in one of the most family-friendly locations in the Midwest, Wisconsin Dells.

    The leaders of four GPUG Chapters of the Year -- Milwaukee (2014), Minneapolis (2016), Green Bay (2017), and Chicago (2019) -- got together with the good people at Dynamic Communities to create the Local User Group meeting to end all Local User Group meetings!

    At the Ho Chunk Gaming Resort, we'll have a main meeting room and three breakout rooms for three tracks of sessions over the day-and-a-half, totaling 18 presentations between Dynamics GP and Power BI/Power Platform.

    We are calling out for presenters! If you've got something significant to show in either the Dynamics GP or Power BI/Power Platform space, then you're very possibly the perfect person to present! Please contact either:

    @Leah Thvedt -- GPUG Chapter Manager, Dynamic Communities
    @Brian Lambertz -- GPUG Minneapolis
    @Katie Graves -- GPUG Chicago
    @Aleiha Hanson -- GPUG Milwaukee
    @Steve Erbach -- GPUG and Power BI Green Bay

    While this may seem GP-heavy, believe me, we want Power BI users to look on this meeting as a concentrated dose of Power BI best-practices goodness, too!

    Here are the broad strokes details. We will firm up the itinerary as we get closer to the event:

    April 16 & 17 (post-Tax Day!)
    Ho Chunk Casino, Wisconsin Dells, WI
    No registration fee ($0!); registration for this event includes breakfast on Friday and lunch on Thursday and Friday!
    Excellent guest room rate of $89 + tax April 16, and $114 + tax April 17
    18 sessions in 1-1/2 days: 2 GP Tracks (12 total sessions) and 1 Power BI Track (6 total sessions) -- this may vary depending on the variety of session proposals we get!

    April 16th

    Registration 11:00-12:30
    Lunch (no charge for lunch!)
    Breakout Session 1: GP Tracks 1 & 2, & Power BI Track 1
    Breakout Session 2: GP Tracks 1 & 2, & Power BI Track 1
    Advanced Networking Opportunities!

    April 17th

    Breakfast (no charge for breakfast!)
    Breakout Session 3: GP Tracks 1 & 2, & Power BI Track 1
    Breakout Session 4: GP Tracks 1 & 2, & Power BI Track 1
    Lunch (no charge for lunch)
    Breakout Session 5: GP Tracks 1 & 2, & Power BI Track 1
    Breakout Session 6: GP Tracks 1 & 2, & Power BI Track 1

    Sponsors helping to defray the cost

    This is a combined GP and Power BI/Power Platform event put together by users for users.
    50-to-60 minute sessions
    Plus a whole lot of networking!

    Registration will be handled a little differently than the garden-variety Local User Group meetings you're used to. We have an event link on our GPUG Green Bay home page; but that's simply a placeholder... but you won't register for the meeting there.

    Where will you register? Dynamic Communities is putting together a Level Up! home page specifically for this event. There you will find all the details about the itinerary as well as a registration link. That Level Up! page isn't quite ready yet... but we'll let you know as soon as it is! Real Soon Now!

    For now, please put April 16 & 17 on your calendar for this brand new Midwest event in Wisconsin Dells. And please tell your co-workers and anyone that uses GP or Power BI!

    Thank you!

    Just to clear up any confusion, because registration is unique for this event, you'll see "Registration Full" on the Green Bay home page. Due to the way registrations will be handled for this event (a Level Up landing page coming Real Soon Now!), you won't be able to register as you normally do. Registration is not full!! But registration is not quite open yet either. Stay Tuned!

    All Members of GPUG Green Bay,

    I traveled to Wisconsin Dells on Tuesday & stayed the night in order to scope out the meeting rooms on Wednesday.

    Quick notes: We will have the main ballroom + three Summit-sized breakout rooms for our three tracks of presentations. Instead of all gathering in one room for meals, we're going to make use of the buffet restaurant in the Casino for our lunches and Friday breakfast.

    Here's what is being given to you as GPUG Members when you register for Level Up-Midwest:

    1) No registration fee for the event. We wanted to keep it that way for Members who pay no registration for our quarterly local user group meetings.
    2) Three meals included: Thursday lunch, Friday breakfast, and Friday lunch. No charge for Members.
    3) And the Hotel doesn't charge for parking. The Ho-Chunk Casino Hotel is built on 56 acres of land and the parking lot surrounds the complex. It's huge! Compare that to what you'd have to pay for parking at a venue like the Gaylord Opryland in Nashville for Summit!

    Ho-Chunk is offering a very decent guest room rate for our Members, too: $89 for Thursday night (+ the usual hotel taxes) and $114 for Friday night (+ tax).

    So your trip to Wisconsin Dells for our two-day event can be very economical! We simply ask that you pay attention to our need for you to register and to treat that registration as you would a wedding invitation. That is, if it turns out that you can't make it once you've registered, please let us know by Friday, April 10th. GPUG has a food contract with the Casino based on the number of attendees and we need to have as accurate a count as possible to keep costs down. Even though you're getting lunch at no charge (+ Friday breakfast!), there ain't no such thing as a "free" lunch! Thank you!!

    We're hammering out the registration site and nailing down other details tomorrow morning. We know we have to move quickly and we're dancing as fast as we can to clear your path to registration for this fun event. Stay tuned!

    Sincerely,
