Thank you to everyone (27 of you!) who came to our Chapter meeting yesterday! The meeting turned out very well, though we had a bit of technical difficulty at the very start. Goes to show that even though I've been involved heavily with confusers since the beginning of the 80s, there are still some curve balls the equipment can throw at me!

Some quick stats from the meeting:

    Total attendance: 27

    Cities represented:
    Green Bay 15
    Neenah 2
    Little Chute 2
    De Pere 2
    Appleton 2
    Stevens Point 1
    Chilton 1
    Manitowoc 1
    Kaukauna 1

    Companies in attendance:
    Agape of Appleton 1
    Baileigh Industrial Holdings 1
    BayCare Clinic 1
    Buechel Stone 1
    GLC Minerals 5
    Global Optics 3
    Green Bay Nursery 1
Heartland Business Systems (GP Partner) 2
    Milk Source LLC 1
    Prevea Health 1
St. Therese of the Little Flower 1
    The Worth Company 1
    Twin Eagle Resources 1
    Velosio (GP Partner) 1
    WEL Companies 1
    Wipfli (GP Partner) 3
    WOW Logistics 2

I was able to record the first (large) portion of the presentation I made on "30+ Excel Tips". I will edit it to make it smoother and post it... but it may not be on the GPUG Green Bay Chapter page. I'm not really sure of the wisdom of recording sessions since it makes the live, in-person meetings less important to attend. I'll make the link available to those who attended and who've contacted me directly. I have to edit it first!

Our volunteers work hard to make it attractive to attend:

    • Name badges
    • Collecting donations and transporting them to the Humane Society
    • Arranging the site booking
    • Following up on the catering order before the meeting
    • Watching for food delivery
    • Setting up lunch
    • Providing goodies for the attendees
    • Creating content
    • Cleaning up afterwards
Our volunteers -- @Donna Beaumier, @Tammy Corso, @Pam Hall, and @Sid Davis -- work to make the meetings worth your time to attend. I want to thank Donna Beaumier in particular for watching over seemingly everything yesterday! Talk about not having to worry about anything when Donna's on the case!

Tammy Corso delivered all of the donations you fine folks brought for the Green Bay Humane Society. It was quite a pile. She said that she was going to take a picture of the donations with the personnel at the Humane Society. I'll post it when she sends it.

By the end of today, Nov. 21st, I will post the PowerPoint presentation for our meeting as well as the Excel workbook I used during my 30+ Tips presentation. We'll get the PowerPoint that @Glen Strebel of Heartland Business Systems put together for his excellent GP Year-End presentation. Glen is a very relatable and generous guy and we like to have him present.

Again, thank you all for attending at Lakeland University yesterday. Watch for our next meeting announcement for 2020!

    Sincerely,

P.S., We played the Birthday Game at the meeting. It only took five people announcing their birthdays before we had a match! That doesn't beat the record of one of the 2016 GPUG Milwaukee meetings at Batteries + Bulbs in Hartland, though. @Michelle Kocher, the former Chair of the Milwaukee Chapter, started off the introductions by announcing her birthday (I think it's July 4th, if I remember correctly)... and we had a hit immediately!

Just to recap, play this game in bars or at weddings. The fun is in the fact that there only need to be 23 people in the room for there to be a 50-50 chance that at least one pair of people will have the same birthday. The odds increase to 2-to-1 with 29; 3-to-1 with 33; 4-to-1 with 35. Believe it or not, your odds are 10-to-1 in favor of a matching pair of birthdays with only 43 people in the room!
