Avalara Avatax speed issues

Does anyone use Avatax in GP (version 2015 R2) for sales tax calculations, that has learned some methods to optimize tax calculation speed?  We have recently implemented it and find the calculation speed extremely inefficient.  One suggestion that we are going to try to see if it helps is disabling "enable extensive logging" but any additional tips are appreciated.

We use it extensively in many locations.  No complaint at all.

Nevertheless, Avatax is requiring an internet web service call to their agent to get taxes.
I would certainly investigate with them to see if there is an issue connecting to their service.

    Hi Loren,

We are on GP2015 R2 and we have been using Avatax for years without any issue.
Avalara support are very helpful and usually they will check on their end if you have any transactions you want to investigate.

Here is the setup screen we have for Avatax Calculation.  Hope this helps. Let me know if you need more info.
