    Hello Everybody,
We would like to use the e-mail feature on the customer statements.
We ran thru the setups and it's very nice, except for one issue - - it seems you have to use the On Blank Paper form and it seems this form generates in functional currency.
We use multi-currency, and we would like to e-mail customers their statements in their originating currency. Sounds reasonable :-)
Would anyone know if we can modify this form to show originating currency? Has anyone done this?
    Thanks for any tips.

    Kind regards,

You will need to use the MC Statement Blank Form. Its in the form selection list. I believe there are two choices. Multicurrency Blank and Multicurrency Long

    Thank you Thaddeus,

That's what we were hoping to do.
Unfortunately the E-Mail function works only with the on Blank Paper form, so I want to know how complex it is to make this form multi-currency.

If you try to switch the form, the E-Mail option disappears.
Ridiculous but true. And I am told this has not changed in more recent versions of GP.

There is a workaround - - to use an older 'pdf' option to e-mail the statements, but this requires additional licenses.

By chance if anyone has another idea, please let me know.

    Kind regards,
    Maria.

    Hi Maria,

In the Customer Maintenance Option, is there an a button Called Options, and is it setup for each customer?

Now in the Print Receivable Window, There is the Email, Options as well and i think you can change the Report that you will be sending there.

    Thank you @Gerald Buenafe.
Yes we have the E-Mail Options button option, but it requires Adobe Acrobat licenses (we get an error right now).

Word Templates won't Email with MultiCurrency on older GP versions so if you are trying to use Word Templates, that could be the issue in GP2015.

I don't use Word Templates  and have no issues selecting MC Blank Form and launching the Email Options.

    Hi @Maria Frandzeskakis,

I haven't found a way to email the true multicurrency statements using word templates.  My experience there has been similar to other posts with regards to the word templates and the alternative options for emailing (i.e. the version of emails that predate the word template features).

However, what I HAVE been able to do is modify the On Blank Paper version of the statement to some multicurrency information.

In order to do that you have to do the following:
1.) Modify the On Blank Paper version of the form to include the RM Open Table.
2.) Modify the On Blank Paper version of the form to include the Multicurrency Receivables Transactions Table.

Below is a link from a discussion roughly a week ago where I discussed how to add the RM Open table to the On Blank Paper statement for someone who wanted to add due date.  It walks through the steps of adding table relationships.

    https://www.gpug.com/communities/community-home/digestviewer/viewthread?GroupId=247&MessageKey=eaf2fc24-bae4-4411-9e39-7d159f3f5881&CommunityKey=4754a624-39c5-4458-8105-02b65a7e929e&tab=digestviewer&ReturnUrl=%2fparticipate%2fdiscussion-forum

The goods news is that the MultiCurrency Receivables Transactions table is already inherently linked to the RM Open Table.  So once you create the relationship between the RM Open Table and RM_Statements_TRX_TEMP (discussed in the link above), you'll be creating the relationship for the Multicurrency transactions by extension.  Then you add both the RM Open and the Multicurrency receivable transactions table (how to add tables is discussed in the link).

Once the tables are added, you'll likely have the core fields you need.  From there you may need to do the following depending on what you want the overall layout to be:
    1.) Add fields to reports.
2.) Create custom calculations for if/then situations (i.e. if currency is US show values from RM Open table else show values from Multicurrency tables, etc.).
3.) Update your word template to reflect the changes made to the report.

Again the actual modifications to the reports would depend on what you want the overall layout to look like, but adding those two tables to the report should get you access to multicurrency fields so you can have the On Blank Paper statement at least somewhat emulate a multicurrency statement.

I did test this in my local system and was able to add tables, currency ID's, and originating currency information in some very small/quick test cases.  I also confirmed I am able to email the new version of the statment using word templates.

Does that make sense? If you have questions, just let me know.

    Thanks,

    Samantha

Thank you very much @Samantha Higdon !
    This is very helpful.
I will try to see whether it's worth modifying the On Blank Paper form or whether we use the E-Mail Options button, and invest in the Acrobat licenses.
    Kind regards,
