Does anyone have an ERP system that works with Great Plains and can recommend it?
Can you please give me the name of the system?

I hope everyone is doing well!
    Thanks,

    Hi @Susan Dickerson

Dynamics GP (Great Plains) is, itself, an ERP System.

If you could be more specific about the functionality you need I'm certain you will get tons of advice.

To be more specific. We are looking for a way to enter invoices into our system and route them through an approval process. Once they are approved then they will be entered in A/P and paid.

Does anyone use GP to support an approval process for A/P or do you use another ERP/invoice approval system that integrates with Great Plains?

    Thanks,

    Hi @Susan Dickerson

There are several possible ways to approach this requirement. What you are referring to is usually called "document management" although that term has been "abused" to the point that it can mean anything.

Quick options without going into a lot of detail:

    1. GP Workflow: You could leverage GP's built-in workflow functionality; invoices would be manually entered into GP and can be submitted for approval; only after the last approval can the invoice be posted. The pro here is simple: It is included in your GP license. The con is that Workflow is still somewhat limited in some areas and sometimes difficult to implement properly.  Overall, it is a nice solution if your workflow is simple.
    2. ReQlogic, I am biased here because I have been working with this product for a long time and I have had excellent solutions and lots of happy customers with it.  Originally a purchase requisition solution, ReQlogic (now renamed DXC Procurement Solution) is a powerful and very flexible product that includes purchase requisitions, Vendor invoices and Expenses among other things. The pro here is that this product's workflow and custom capabilities is the best out there; the software is web based with an easy to use interface customers swear by, including mobile solutions.  The con is that is is a paid solution, of course. Still it is cheaper than most document management software out there.,
    3. Other document management solutions out there. There are a few: QuickTag, Metaviewer, PaperSave, to name a few. These tend to be stand-alone document management solutions with some kind of integration or addin for Dynamics GP.  They are good, for sure, and which one is best will depend on specifics, so if the above does not work, you may want to talk the each of these and get some customer references to make your choice.  These also tend to be more expensive than either 1 or 2.

Feel free to contact me directly if you want more details.

    Hope it helps!

    Hi @Susan Dickerson

I'm also a big fan of ReQlogic, we've been using it five years and it's great. I found that the workflow in ReQlogic was able to handle our multi-management departments better than the workflow in GP.
