History transactions in Smart View

    I have a report in smart view but it will only show transactions from on open year - can anyone help so I can access transactions in a closed year also]

    SmartView is an eOne product that is separate from SmartList.

    That said, in the upper right corner of the SmartView window in all of the modules is the below area, can you confirm that all of the boxes or at least the history box is marked?

    The only thing I see in the upper right hand column is My Login Name and Company name - Is it under one of the menus

    Is there anyway to post a screenshot for us?

    If you look at the picture I posted above, does it look like the screen you are on?  Is the highlighted area not there?

    You may not have the status bar selected to view, look at this screenshot and make sure you have the option for "COLUMNS" marked:

    Betty,

    The Status portion where you can select the Unposted, Posted, History, etc options will only appear on the default lists that are transaction based such as Account Transactions and Sales Transactions.

    Couple of questions for you.
    1.  What list are you running in SmartView?  From the screen shot, we cannot see what list it is.  It appears it may be the account list, but want to verify that since it has an Amount field which the Accounts list doesn't normally have.
    2.  Is this list built or modified in SmartList Builder?  If it is, what tables are on the list?

    Betty,

    It appears this one is a customer SmartList Builder setup.  In looking at the setup, you have only added the Year-to-Date Transaction open table which holds your open year data.  You will need to add the Account Transaction History to see the history and the Transaction Work / Transaction Amounts Work if you want the unposted data.

    To do this is a little bit different than the other tables that are there.  You are going to need to use the Matched Tables option.  You can find this by double clicking on the Year-to-Date Transaction Open and selecting Matched tables.  You can add these other transaction tables there.  You can find more detail on how to add a Matched Table here:  https://www.eonesolutions.com/Manuals/SmartList-Builder/SmartList%20Builder/toc377550853.php

    You are the best - You pulled me out of the fire.  I was in a bind.  Now if I could only get rid of that error that tells me we are out of resources and throw me out of GP and SmartView.

    Betty,
    it looks like as if you're running your GP client from a remote server ? it is fairly uncommon to get this type of warning on your local computer, unless you're really undersized and have very low memory (which is usually the root cause of such pop-ups). I've a client that is running a GP SQL server from a virtual environment with only 8GB of RAM, and constantly getting those warnings to close apps to make room in the system. 8GB is fine when running a demo or test system for GP, not quite in production when several users access the databases. Though  it might really depend on how many services are running at the same time also next to the SQL services.
