Hi, everyone! I'm super excited to announce that we've released a new feature on the GPUG website: @mentions!What is an @mention? It's the ability to tag other GPUG participants in various locations on the website, including discussion posts, blog posts and comments. Here's how it works:
Why is this so cool?Say, for example, I'm reading a thread and think that GPUG General Manager, @Bob McAdam, would have some insight he could share about the topic. I could @mention Bob in a discussion reply, and he would receive an email notification that he was mentioned in my discussion post, prompting him to view and participate in the thread.
Another great use for this when responding to a discussion post is to @mention the person who asked the original question. By @mentioning the asker in your response, they'll receive an email notification letting them know that they've been @mentioned, prompting them to check out your response to their question.A couple notes:If the @mentioned person no longer wants to be included in the @mention, the individual can remove the reference to their profile by hovering over the @mention and clicking Remove Reference.
@mention functionality is currently compatible with Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari and the mobile view of the website. In the future, we plan on making it compatible with IE v11.Now…who's excited about this new feature? I know I am!Enjoy your day,Michelle
