EFT

    We are on GP 2015 and are wanting to pay our employees expense checks through EFT.  I know GP has that capability, but I cannot find where to go to set it up.  Does GP 2015 have EFT capability?

    Hi @Durlie Barati

    Here is a GPUG Webinar on how to get this accomplished.

    Yes, it is COVID related.  We are going to start working from home next week and our employees would like to receive their expense checks electronically so they don't have to come into the office to pick up checks.  I have looked and do not see where you go to set up EFT.  Is there a setting that we need to turn on to be able to do this or do we just not have the capability?

    Hi @Durlie Barati

    Did you watch the video?

    If you go to Financial>Cards>  do you see the EFT File Format Setup?  If not then it is a securities issue because the capability is definitely there, out of the box, in GP 2015

    Yes I watched the video.  I thought it was very helpful in the way you walked through all the steps.  I looked under Financial>Cards> and do not see anything EFT related.   I even tried logging on as System Administrator and still do not see it.  I will have to get with my IT department to look at anything related to security settings.  Is there a particular place I should ask him to look.

    You logged in as 'sa' or a different PowerUser?

    Essentially to get it set up you need these securities (At the TASK level and then add the TASK to YOUR security setup)

    Jo, I have been given access to just about everything and I still don't see the EFT when I go to Financial>Cards.  What are we missing?

    Have you exited GP and then gone back in?  New securities are only activated when you log out and then back in.

    Hoping you and yours are safe and well during this crisis!

    Thanks!

    @Duralie Barati

    Also, did he add this task to your specific securities?

    I logged out and logged back in.  I even rebooted my computer and I still can't see it.

    @Durlie Barati,

    Although GP 2015 may come with EFT as a default, perhaps you do not have that module "activated" in the Registration window? This can be found on the Administration Page under Setup>>System>>Registration. As noted in the dialogue at the top of the screen shot, you can unmark modules that you do not want to use. This will keep your area pages free of clutter.

    Please let us know if this does not fix it as that may indicate something more is going on.

    @Durlie Barati

    Also if it does not appear in that list was the EFT for Payables installed as part of the GP client installation? It is a separate module that needs to be installed.
