    We have had GP since 2016 and have used the HITB and Reconcile to GL feature monthly since that time without incident.  We installed the annual update for GP 2016 R2 in December and suddenly find that we have neither the HITB report nor the inventory Reconcile to GL feature.  Our inventory module reconciled every month through 11/2018 and I have no reason to believe 12/2018 is out of balance. We ran the HITB Reset patch to recover the lost HITB and got General Posting Journal Entries we do not understand AND our module is now out of balance.  We tried to run the Reconcile to GL feature but got a message that we cannot reconcile before the date the reset tool was installed.  Why did we lose the HITB when the update was installed and how do we begin reconciling?  BTW, all of this work was done in a test company with the current data from our live company.

    Hi @Kathleen Wilkie

    We can better help you with just a bit more information.  I need to know if the HITB was installed for you guys during the upgrade.

    Right click on your GP Icon and click Properties and "Open File Location".

    Double click to open the Dynamics.SET file - if your system asks you, choose to open it as a Notepad file.

    In that file you should see that the HITB report has been installed.  See screenshot below.

    If it has been installed and you cannot see it, let us know.  If it was NOT installed, get in touch with your partner to install that product again (THEY SHOULD NOT CHARGE YOU TO FIX THIS).

    I went through the steps as you suggested.  The HITB was installed with the update, but I don't see it as a report in the GP program.

    Maybe you need to set security to see the HITB report.

    Hi @Kathleen Wilkie,

    Once the HITB report has been installed, you should not run the IV_Reset process again, as you're going to lose all your past inventory history from the HITB tables..
    I've attached 2 older documents from Microsoft about the HITB tool that may help you to understand how the whole process works.

    Where you actually on the same GP main version as the service pack you applied last  (2016R2) ?

    Thanks everyone for your suggestions.  When we ran the update for 2016R2 in December, 2018, we lost the HITB.  We ran the reset tool, but the balances were wrong in the INV module as it was adding the beginning balance to the ending balance.  We found that if we ran this script, it allowed GP to show the HITB:

    INSERT INTO SY01401 (USERID, coDefaultType, USRDFSTR)
    VALUES ('sa', '5597', '1')

    But, it does NOT write any data to the SEE30303 table between the time we installed the HITB reset tool and the date we ran the script.  Is it possible to insert manually the records missing on SEE30303?
