    Hello All,
I am getting the "You Don't Have Permission to Open this Window" pop-up Message for all non-Power users upon login.of you hit ok GP loads and displays the user's dashboard.  I can't determine what window it is trying to open. As a power user I don't get the message but no window pops up. I have tried using GP power tools to determine what window is trying to load but as soon as I log out the manual debugger stops. I was thinking of  using  the Dexterity Scriptlog by modifying the DEX.ini  with ScriptDebugger=TRUE  Will that  log login actions? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi @Fred Webb

When did you install GP Power Tools?

Also, have you installed any third parties that may have caused this?

    Hi Jo
Installed Power tools quite some time ago but have updated recently. Yes we installed EDI (SPS Commerce) and I think that is the issue but I can't determine what window is trying to open as none pop up

    Hi Fred,
In GPPT (GP Power Tools)  you can start the DEXSQL trace right before you try to perform any action that will throw an error message, so you minimize the content of the log file. No need to modify the DEX.ini, GPPT can handle all this for you.
In your case, I'd just start the Security Profiler from GPPT (found under GPPT > Reports > Security Profiler). This will list on screen any resources the user tries to access and you'll be able to drill down right from there into the security resources to fix the roles & tasks that are required to open the resources used by SPS Commerce in GP.
The 3rd-party product may not have built-in Security roles & tasks for GP, which would be surprising, but not uncommon for 3rd-parties.. In case that SPS Commerce doesn't provide default roles & tasks, you can use GPPT to create new ones from scratch. @David Musgrave can certainly help to guide you thru that process.

    Hi Fred

This article explains how to resolve security errors on login.

    https://winthropdc.wordpress.com/2008/11/17/how-to-resolve-security-errors-on-login/

Where it mentions the Support Debugging Tool, just swap that to GP Power Tools.

    Regards

Thanks Dave and Beat for pointing me in the right direction, with Dave's instructions I was able to determine that it was indeed an SPS commerce issue, apparently the SPS Module installs an FTP client that requires a login where the login credential are added at install, ours didn't work., So thanks again for all your help.

I also ran across this issue with a 3rd party application - Aatrix.  It would come up for any user that was not a valid Aatrix user.  Once I removed that product from each of their workstations I had no issues.  I remedied the problem with custom Dynamics.set files for each group of users so that I could remove the 3rd party from the file.

Glad to see that you were able to resolve your login issue using the GP Power Tools.
