    Hello Everyone!

    It is my understanding that out of the box, Microsoft Dynamics GP is set up for accrual based reporting.
    Is this true?
    Also can it easily be converted to cash basis?
    If so, how?
    We are on version Dynamics GP 2015.

    Thank you!

    AIM Technologies is the tool you want to use for Cash Basis Accounting in Dynamics GP.

    The software will allow you to:
    -Use standard reporting tools within Microsoft Dynamics GP;
    -Prepare cash-basis and accrual-basis financial reports simultaneously;
    -Use Cash Basis Reporting regardless of the company's specific account format structure;
    -Customize relationship of cash-basis and accrual-basis accounts; and
    -Automatically create master records related to Cash Basis Reporting data.

    Joelle,

    I agree with Paula in that AIM Tech Cash Basis is a good option.   We also have some customers who use the Reporting Ledgers to setup a cash basis GL.   The ledgers way is a bit more work but depends on how often you are looking to do the cash basis reporting.

    The way Michael mentioned is how we do it.  We do not have a 3rd party product, but we only need our cash basis P&L monthly.  So we have an SSRS report we run to get the information to create a JE off of to put the appropriate information in our Local ledger.  Then we create the cash basis P&L in management reporter off of our local ledger.

    We had a partner set up the original SSRS report and after that we have been able to maintain it ourselves.  It takes about 5-10 minutes per month to do the JE.
