    Hello
    We have items that we can purchase in various UOM.  Example  bag - pallet - ton.
    We understand how the UOM schedule works, but what do companies do when the schedule can vary?
    Such as 1 item can have 56 bags on a pallet  84 bags to a ton.
    Another item can have 60 bags to a pallet and 90 bags to a ton.

    What is the correct way to set up the UOM schedule?

    Thank you

    I am a fan of having a U/M schedule for each different combination.  Example:  BAG56 is the 56 bags to a pallet, 84 bags to a ton.  BAG60 is 60 bags to a pallet, 90 bags to a ton.   By having each U/M schedule define a unique relationship, you avoid the possibliities of users choosing a unit fo measure that is not offered.

    Agree w Al. A bag is not a bag is a bag....when a bag is a bag.....

    For Concrete Quickcrete we buy Bags in 80, 65, 60 and 50 lbs usually by pallet count.
    They go on 42 inch pallets, and 48 inch pallets in different quantities.
    The pallets 42s and 48s go on two truck sizes.

    So to do this properly, you make a different UofM for each Bag as the base UofM
    And include each Pallet Size  PAL42, PAL48 conversion for each bag size

    BAG80 = 24 on PAL42 and 28 on PAL48
    BAG60 = 32 on PAL42 and 40 on PAL48
    BAG55......
    BAG50.......

    The Item SKU for Quickcrete is tied to its Bag size as the Base countable UofM.
