GP is Frozen

    Hello, I'm pretty new to GP and I'm having a bit of trouble. I was processing checks when I accidently double clicked a second check batch and the whole system froze. I am unable to do anything. Is there a fix on my end?

    Hi Stephanie,
    I guess that you have found out that when GP gets unresponsive, you have two options:
    1. wait until GP returns to a normal state and allows you to continue
    2. Kill the GP client by using the task manager in Windows

    The 2nd option should be used with care, so unless you've given enough time to GP to fall-back on its feet, sometimes you don't have any other choice. Depending on what you were processing right before the freeze, you might have to get some 'repair' work done when you get back into GP after it was killed.
    I'd advise to talk to your partner if it was a process that involved any kind of posting transactions or like printing checks. The reason is that sometimes the transaction was completed in the back-end, but all you missed was the report printout.. Most of those can be re-printed within GP, but in the case of checks, your options might be more limited.
