We are on GP2015R2.  We have closed all modules for 2021.  We have not even opened 2022.  NOTHING.

How is it buyers are able to make purchase orders.  15 purchase orders have been created with a 2022 date.

If it's just a purchase order, there's no restriction on entering a transaction for a non-existent fiscal year. You won't be able to receive the PO, though.

If you try to receive the transaction and enter a date in 2022, you should get these messages.

@Charles Allen  Thank you for the response.  So for future reference, what is best practice at year end, to keep ALL activity stopped except for what the accounting department is doing?

We are using this first week of the new year to do reconciliations and 'clean up'.  For me 'clean up' has meant reopening the fiscal period to write ZERO checks.  Entering payable batches could be done with the Fiscal Period closed, but not the checks or even to apply credits to invoices.
