Document Attach For Recurring Journal Entry Batches

    Hello All,

I am trying to implement the use of document attach in the financial module of GP 2018 in order to reduce the use of paper at our organization.  However, the issue I am finding is that when I attach a document to a recurring batch, the document attaches itself to every iteration of the batch.  We have been using some of these batches for years so it doesn't make sense to attach back up from 2021 to a journal entry that was posted in 2018.  Is there a way to attach a document to only the batch you currently posting without affecting prior posted batches?

    Good Afternoon,

Can you please confirm which version of GP you are using?  I am testing on 18.3.1245, and I have a recurring journal entry batch (weekly) where I have some that have the document attached (if I attached it to that individual week's posting) and some where I elected not to attach anything.

Please note that I am using the "new" Document Attach that shows itself as the large paperclip icon in the navigation ribbon along the top.

I can replicate what you seem to be indicating IF I use the "old" document attach method of clicking on the note icon next to the journal entry number ( affectionately refer to it as the post it note) and attaching the document through that method.

If you have any questions or there is anything else I can assist with, please let me know.

    Best,

    Samantha
