We are currently looking for a budgeting software.  I have seen the demo for Budget Maestro and talked with a couple of users and it looks like it will be a great solution.  Is anyone currently using this software and does anyone have any feedback they would like to share??

Kimberlee, I did not care for Budget Maestro at all. We used it (kind of) for several years. We never fully got it off the ground and running. We are a small company but have around 8 managers who are responsible for their department's budget and forecast. We wanted a program that allowed all department managers to go in and update their forecast monthly. That proved to be way too complicated using Budget Maestro. It was not a program someone could learn quickly and then remember everything while only touching it once a month or so. The software was not intuitive and most of us in my department pick up new programs quickly.  Anyone who struggles technologically will find it difficult to learn. I don't want to scare you off it completely. Depending on how your company intends to use the program, it may be a fit for you. I think if you had ONLY one or two people responsible for entering the data it would be a good solution. It is VERY robust and will certainly give you plenty of ways to slice and dice the data for reporting purposes. It is not a program intended for a lot of people to have their hands in though.

    Kimberlee,

Take a look at Dynamic Budgets (www.DynamicBudgets.com).  They have an amazing product at an affordable price.  I have two customers that have had bad experiences with Budget Maestro.  I would not recommend that.

I am interested to hear what others have to say about the various budgeting and forecasting programs available.  I am in the process of finding a software as well.  I have viewed demos for Planning Maestro and Host Analytics already, and will be viewing demos for Dynamic Budgets and PhoPhix today.  There are a couple of things I did not care for with Planning Maestro.  Host Analytics seams like a possible solution.

    Thank you,

Hi Kimberlee, I'd appreciate you considering our solution, True Sky. True Sky uses an Excel end-user interface (not Excel-like) so your end-users can leverage their existing knowledge and familiarity of your Excel and your current processes. Everything is stored securely in a SQL database so you don't have to worry about the painful merge process and you'll be able to share the budget with multiple people easily. We also have a direct integration to GP so you have real-time access to source data.
