Pennsylvania Payroll Local Tax setup

  • 1.  Pennsylvania Payroll Local Tax setup

    We will begin processing payroll for Pennsylvania employees next month and am looking for best practices in setting up for the collection of the two types of local tax, EIT and LST. Currently, all local taxes collected will go to the same Tax Bureau, but I'm not sure that will always be the case.

    What we have done is use 2 user defined fields in the employee master table to hold the tax code # and the taxing authority.  We have numerous employees through out PA and need to capture those 2 fields to properly pay the tax with held.  I extract the data via SQL to excel, but I am sure you could create a smartlsit to do the same.
