GP error message when using Vendor Combiner and Modifier Utility

  • 1.  GP error message when using Vendor Combiner and Modifier Utility

    Posted 7 days ago
We are experiencing an issue when attempting to use the Purchasing Vendor Combiner and Modifier utility.  Any user that attempts to combine two vendors (even when logged in as SA) gets the following error message:  [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0][SQL Server]Invalid objectname 'deleteme'.

I ran Check Links on the Payables Vendor Master Logical File last night and no errors were found.  The issue persists.  I'm not sure where to even start to get this issue resolved.  Any guidance would be most appreciated.

    Hi Rachel,

Do you have a test company? Do you have 3rd party products?
Try disabling 3rd party products 1 at a time (via Customization Status*) until the error goes away...
This is to rule out if the error is related to a 3rd party product.

Thank you for the suggestions.  The process was able to run successfully with all third party tools enabled in test.  This makes me think that I have some sort of data corruption somewhere in production?  Any ideas on how to locate the problem(s)?

    Hi Rachel,

If you do have some sort of data issue that could be difficult to find and would probably require someone connecting to the database to look.

What were the 3rd party solutions that you disabled to make this work?  There are some solutions that have additional tables in the database that are storing the Vendor ID.  If that is the case, the utility would have updated the GP tables and not the 3rd party tables.  I have seen that in the past and you may need to work with the ISV solution then on how to update the IDs if that is the case.

Hi @Rachel Peck, my suggestion would be to run a dexsqllog to get more details around the error. Instructions are included in the link below. If you want to run this and report back here with the log, we can help troubleshoot from there. Thanks!

Thank you everyone.  I was able to work with one of our developers and it turned out that the GP partner we work with from time to time had created some temp tables to troubleshoot a previous issue and forgot to delete them when they were finished.  We had to run the stored procedure locally to find the issue and tables.
