While running our first bi weekly payroll for 2020 I'm getting the following warning when running the Build Check File Report in GP Payroll version 2018 - R2.

No Minimum Wage Balance master pay record exists for this employee. This is the first time I have seen this warning and the warning is for different states and salaries.

Does anyone know what this warning means and how/what needs corrected in GP payroll?

Look on the Additional Information window from the Employee Maintenance window. I believe the field is there for Minimum Wage. You'll want to unmark it.

    Hi Charles
Are you aware is this a new enhancement to GP payroll for 2020? If not, would you know what would have triggered this type of warning? Would this have been something someone manually clicked on? My company has installed several new modules to GP Payroll and I want to ensure these new modules would not have created / be impacted by box being clicked off.
    Thank you

    Hi Lorie,
As Charles pointed out there is a check box on the Employee Additional Information screen "Calculate Minimum Wage Balance". The error you are seeing occurs when this box is checked and there is no Minimum Wage Balance pay code setup for this employee. I'm guessing that this boxed has been check by mistake. The same check box exists in the Employee Class Setup. When a change is saved to the Employee Class the user will receive the prompt "Do you want to roll down these changes".  If the user clicks Yes the changes will be rolled down to all employees in that Class. Employee Class setting can also be rolled down when a new employee is created or when the Employee Class is changed on an existing employee.

It's not new so it's odd you're getting the message.
