    Has anyone had a check dropped/ out of sequence, ( i.e. cut # 118103 on 11/28 , cut #118105 on 11/29)?
     This has happened twice within the month.
    All help is appreciated

    Monica, we recently had the same thing happen. We discovered that when posting a manual payment through the payables module, the payment method defaults to check. Make sure you change the payment method if you paid an invoice by credit card, wire, ACH etc. Otherwise GP will assume you have just cut a manual check using the next sequential check number.

    @Monica Whitmoyer,

    We've had this happen if someone accidentally used a type of "check" instead of Withdrawal in the Bank Transaction Entry window. For example, we need to make a cash transaction that does not involve a Vendor (perhaps the bank debited our account for a fee or error, etc. and we simply need to record the transaction so that bank rec module is correct). We use the Bank Transaction Entry window to create a withdrawal, but if someone forgets to change the type and leaves it as check, the system will use the next check number in the payment. If you were to look the check up in the Purchasing module Transaction by Document, you would not see it, making it appear to be ghosted.

    I generally use a SmartList under Bank Transactions to look at recent transactions and see with the CM Trx Number is, to see if it's my missing check number (or you could search this column directly for your missing number).
