Payroll SSN Mask Not Working

  • 1.  Payroll SSN Mask Not Working

    I went to HR & Payroll > Setup > Payroll > SSN Mask and selected the Precheck Report, but when users run this report it is still showing unmasked SSN numbers.  What am i missing here?

    Have you logged out and back in after making the change before running the report?

    yes, i actually made the change about two weeks ago and it hasn't worked since.

    I suspect the report you are attempting to run/print may have been modified possibly prior to this feature being available.  Take a look at your user security for the Alternate/Modified reports and see if the report is a modified report vs the standard/canned GP report.  if it is an Alt/Modified change the security properties to run the standard/default Microsoft Dynamics report and then reprint.

    Generally this is a company wide change, but the only thing that comes to mind is if you use a modified version of this report.

    @Wally Dodds talks about this earlier in this tread - and I think it's a great place to start.

    Have you looked to see if you are using a modified version of the report already?  Also, do you have any payroll ISV's?

    Also - when you say 'run this report' - are you referring to the check calculate report?  Perhaps they are running a report that is not actually the report you changed?​​
