print to file

    Good morning!

    Sometimes, not always, when I print to a file, Great Plains becomes non-responsive.  I have to end the task in task manager, then re-boot my pc.  Have any of you encountered this issue?  Have you found a way to avoid it?

    We have been printing our payables batch posting reports to file for about 4 years.  Started on GP2010 and now GP2015R2.  We have not had a problem. The number of pages in each report are what I consider minimal, 20 or less.  On occasion I have printed the subledger aged trial balances to file.  These are more extensive.  But they have not locked me up.

    Does it happen from one module in particular? Is the report being spooled to a file extensive in the number of pages?  The only issue I can hazard a guess on would be an intermittent interruption in the network communicating.

    When this happens again, look at the Process Monitor under the Microsoft Dynamics GP button to see if anything else is running.
