Njevity Hosting - Pros & Cons

Any thoughts on Njevity BYOL hosting tool for GP 2018? We are considering migrating environments from our current cloud server provider to the Njevity BYOL solution as we upgrade from 2015 to 2018. Looking for feedback on downtime, backups, cost, and overall satisfaction. Would be great to have some feedback from current or past Njevity clients on the good, bad, and the ugly.

Just joined GPUG and first time posting to the forum, thanks in advance everyone!

    Dan,

    Welcome to GPUG!

While my company uses Njevity, and love them, we do not use the BYOL Hosting. I hope more people in the group are able to provide the feedback that you need.

    Good Luck!

    Hi @Dan Stichter

I know a few of the NJevity consultants personally and can tell you that company is comprised of some of the most talented individuals in the GP space.

I also know that they will be quite upfront with the pros and cons of their product if you simply call and ask.

Generally speaking, however, there are limitations to GP functionality when hosted by anyone, especially around Manufacturing and sometimes Project and Field Services.  HOWEVER, if you are a client who uses mainly just Financial, AP and AR then its great.

Give them a call:  @Brianne van Reenen might be able to provide you with some guidance or even @Chris Dobkins may have some input.

    Hello Dan,
Welcome to the COMMUNITY!! I can certainly agree with @Jo deRuiter about the level of talent at Njevity. They are ALL -STARS in my book. @Chris Dobkins, @Melissa Dobkins, @Tudor Coleman. @Mark Huff, @Mike McPhilomy, @Pam Misialek, @Emily Roen, @Brianne van Reenen, @Windi Epperson  I could go on. They will definitely insure you are well taken care of. In terms of your BYOL environment, l can tell you that security is priority and that their hosted environment and is one of the best things about thier hosting. Their PowerGP product is something you should consider for BYOL and pricing is definitely a plus with Njevity.  As the previous post said for all your Njevity needs contact Chris Dobkins or Mike McPhilomy for guidence into the PowerGP world. You'll be glad you did.

I will second the Njevity commendations, I met them at GPUG Summit and was quite impressed
Another question to ask is how you can obtain access to your GP Environment if you want to make any changes to GP and SQL system settings yourself, or if that is possible.
