    Hi Everyone,

    Newbie here. I was wondering if it's possible to change the default sorting order in the Item History window (Inventory->History).
    When I enter an item, it displays the results in the following order by default:

    Is it possible to reverse the default order?

    Hi Ankit,
    There is no way you can change the layout of the grid in the bottom of this window if that's what you meant by 'sorting' the output.. 


    But you could create your own smartlist or Excel report based on the content that's coming from the underlying tables or use the built-in view which is going to return the same result: [InventorySalesSummaryPeriod_History]
    I'm fairly confident there is already an existing Excel or SSRS reports that would be part of the out-of-the-box GP reports.

    There is no option via the standard application.

    However I could make this customization in a few minutes using GP Power Tools - Developer Tools module.

    it would just need a few triggers to make it happen.

    Hi @Ankit Jana

    You don't have a valid company name listed so I cannot check your registration for you.

    Please check the Registration window and confirm that the Developer Tools module is registered.

    This module is required to be able to run any custom scripts and triggers.

    Hi @David Musgrave

    It's registered under ​Conglom Inc. I went through your blog
    and I was able to set up a trigger to change the default selection to 'Hist. & Proj. Annual' from 'All'.
    But I was not able to find the field responsible for sorting the results by date in descending order in the Item History Window to set up the trigger.

    The coding required is more complex as it requires concepts such as auto disabling triggers to capture and store table references, creating of temporary Dexterity indexes (in Descending order) and forcing the window to redisplay using the new index id. 

    This is something that most people would say is not possible, but that is just an extra challenge to be met.

    I will have a look at what is needed.

    I have been able to reverse the order of the data display on the Item History window.

    I need to do a little more work to make sure all the options work and then I will post the example on the blog.
