Dynamics 365

    Hi,
    Are there currently Dynamics 365 users who could provide feedback on the application?

    Also, years ago we had to go with a 3rd party-BNA to manage our 30k+ fixed assets, as GP was not able to easily manage and provide tax forms. Are there other applications anyone can recommend?

    Hi Cynthia,

    It may be helpful to specify what flavor of D365 you'd like feedback on. There are a few. The accounting ones are Business Central (NAV) and Finance & Operations (AX). But there are more: Microsoft Dynamics 365 - Intelligent Business Applications

    Good morning,

    We are looking to replace GP2015 – Financial, Sales and Purchasing modules. Also, interested if D365 has a Fixed Assets solution.

    Thanks,

    You would be much further ahead to upgrade to Dynamic GP's latest release (2018) and stay on it.  It can do everything Dyn365 can do, and much, much more.  You're likely going to lose significant functionality if you move to Dyn365.

    Hi Cindi,

    Before thinking of replacing Dynamics GP, take a deep look at SalesPad.  This product transforms your GP install into a modern ERP that has nothing to envy D365, while saving you tons of money, time and frustration in the process.

    Please keep in mind that while Microsoft is touting Dynamics 365 as an "upgrade" to Dynamics GP, this is simply false.  Dynamics 365 is a totally different system entirely.  Most who have been under the impression that it is an "upgrade" have been sorely disappointed because it still lacks much crucial functionality to bring it to where Dynamics GP is today.  Do a compare of the modules and you can see for yourself.

    If you want to install a test instance in your environment and give it a spin, you may find that it has all the necessary functionality you need and you can design a transition path including data porting and report rebuilds.  All I'm saying is to do your due diligence.  You don't want to get halfway in when you have committed yourself only to find out it isn't going to work for you or that it is going to require a whole lot more time and money to convert to than what you were originally told.  No business can afford that kind of mess with their accounting system.

    @Cynthia Williams

    Most GP Customers I encounter that inquire about D365 are not ready to move in that direction because it is a full-on brand new implementation.  Yes, they do "say" there is a data migration, but it hardly works.

    I agree with other users on this thread that you would be better off upgrading you GP and implementing FA there - it has an awesome FA system.

    If you feel you have "out-grown" GP you may need to reach out and discuss with your Partner or others on here why you think you have out-grown it or, possibly a solution on how to deploy it remotely or "in the cloud"
