    Hello,

My name is Curtis, I am the Microsoft Dynamics GP Administrator here at Apex Global Solutions.

I'd like to know if any GPUG users have experienced an issue with having multiple people post Computer Checks using GP, Mekorma Micr, Binary Stream - MEM, and PaperSave.

We are a financial service provider for healthcare facilities. We manage approximately 50 some odd facilities in 4 GP companies using the above named products. We print over 500 payables checks daily.

A few years back when using GP 2010 R2, , we noticed when we had 2 or 3 users printing checks in the same GP company, when reconciling checks a month or so later, we noticed a check batch when printing, one of the checks and subsequent checks after in this batch,  would grab the next check number from another checkbook. We attempted to troubleshoot the issue and ask Mekorma and Binary Stream if this was a known issue and of course the response was to attempt to print the checks without each of the 3rd parties installed. We obviously could not do this as we rely on the Micr check printing and as well Multi Facility.

We moved forward by only allowing 1 user to print computer checks per company, and we monitored the Process Monitor to be sure no other processes (such as posting or printing) were running as to cause a batch from grabbing its next check number from another checkbook.

We've now upgraded to Microsoft Dynamics GP 2018 R2, as well, we've upgraded our hardware servers, and as well upgraded SQL Server.
We are getting busy, and would like to try to have multiple users printing checks in same company.

Has any GP user reading this thread heard of this issue occurring or has experienced an issue such as this?

    Thoughts?

    Hello Curtis,

I would follow the advice of the ISV's...  just not in your production environment.  Do it in a test company.  Their approach is to find the offending code by isolating each ISV.  Sometimes the toughest part is to replicate the issue.  You need to find the set of circumstances that causes this and be able to repeat it.  This is your 'failure script'.  Then, remove one ISV at a time and execute your 'failure script' until you've determined which ISV is the offending one.  Then, call them and say "I told you so"  :)    and give them good screenshots and your script to repeat it.

    Good luck.
