    Hello,

    I've opened a ticket with GP support and nothing they've had me try has fixed the issue.  I just wanted to warn everybody.  Here's the sequence of events:

    Running both GP 2013 live and GP 2018 test on my Windows 7 workstation with Office 365 32-bit.  On Monday, I was getting update popups from Office 365 to update but clicking the button did nothing.  I was told to do an online repair of Office 365.  It looked like the online repair did a full install.  Everything seemed fine after the online repair.

    I tried to email an invoice out of 2018 that worked last week.  GP crashed and closed.  I tried the Send to Email from a print-to-screen report, crashed.  I tried sending a statement using the Adobe PDF old way, crashed.

    I then tried everything from my live 2013 company and ever email functionality crashed.

    GP support had me remove my profile, remove Office 365, install Office 365 with another user's profile, nothing worked.  I've contacted Office 365 support to have them turn off updates for my domain.  I at least hope that works.  I've instructed my users to NOT update Office 365 if they see a message.

    GP Support had me do a GP2018 repair after renaming the GP folder which installed a clean version with no 3rd party software.

    After this test, emailing works.

    I'm going to add in the 3rd party software one at a time and test.

    Were you able to find which 3rd party caused it or other resolution after testing?

    Hi Jo,

    I came in Monday morning to find out my attempt to block Office 365 updates for all my GP2013 workstations was unsuccessful.  The entire company could not email invoices or statements.

    I worked all day to get a successful Office rollback to work.  It sure was easier when we had DVD's.  The rollback takes about one hour and has a 50% success rate.  Once I get most of my production GP2013 workstations working again, I will start troubleshooting the 3rd party issue.

    The VBA customization we use is an order weight total on the SOP entry and History screens.

    I have been testing both GP 2013 and GP 2018 using the Exchange option in the blog post.  GP 2013 still uses WINWORD.EXE to create the PDF Invoice.  I'm getting a few "Microsoft Save" errors each week.

    GP 2018 no longer uses WINWORD.EXE to create the PDF  ( You were right John Arnold).  I'm only in TEST on GP 2018 and haven't had any "Microsoft Save" errors.

    GP Power Tools - Developer Tools module can replace the VBA functionality with triggers and scripts using Dexterity, SQL, C# and/or VB.Net.  There is no development or upgrade processes needed. It is more stable, needs no external tools (such as Visual Studio, Dexterity, or SQL Management Studio) AND is web client compatible.

    My understanding is .... If you remove the VBA, your emailing should work again.​ GP Power Tools can make that happen easily and quickly.

    Note that the upcoming GP Power Tools build 27 includes triggering on modifier added fields and modal dialogs as well. If you are interested in installing the beta, please let me know.
