    Hi All,

    We recently lost our top IT exec and are trying to assess our IT & ERP/GP needs. There's been a lot of back and forth about "needs" and industry standards. If you could help give me input on what your current/past organization's ratio is, it would really help.

    EE = Employees

    Basic Info needed (estimates are fine):
    Type of Business (MFG, Retail, Service, etc):
    Company EE Count:
    Desktop Users:
    GP Users:
    IT EEs:
    ERP/GP EEs (some orgs classify them as IT which is fine):
    Other IT EEs (CRM, Business Intelligence, etc):
    Do you use Outside IT/ERP Consulting as well?:

    I'll start:
    Type of Business: Manufacturing
    Company EE Count: 600
    Desktop Users: 290
    GP Users: 140
    IT EEs: 3
    GP EEs: 1
    Other IT EEs: 0
    Do you use Outside IT/ERP Consulting as well?: Yes, ERP specifically

    Thanks in advance for any assistance.

    Sorry, should have clarified, EE = employees.

    ER = Employer, we use these a lot in Acct/HR (FTE for Full Time Employee).

    Best,
    Saad

    @Blair Christensen

    EE = Employee
    ER  = Employer

    These abbreviations are typically used when talking about Payroll, but can be used elsewhere.

    This question would vary greatly on your industry.  We are a transit company so our stats are as follows..

    Company EE Count: 850
    Desktop Users: 200
    GP Users: 50
    IT EEs: 8
    GP EEs: 2
    Other IT EEs: 0

    We do not use outside GP consultants very often as we can do most work in house.  We go outside for more networking and wireless consultants as that is expanding greatly.   We do bring in GP Consultants during upgrades to properly configure, and train users on new features of GP. Because of our industry we have many Federal requirements that keep our GP admins more than busy.  If they have any free time they have helped in other areas of IT.  We hire more of a developer/dba than just a GP admin for that reason.
