I'd like to hear from anyone using FastPath's ConFigAD for as an active directory component for GP.

    Worth the money
Installation Issues - easy, nightmare, etc.
    Maintenance
    Support

    etc. etc.

    Much appreciated

We have used ConfigAD and SSO for a number of years now and it's been great.  The only issues I recall were one related to a windows update, and a little difficulty when we went from GP 2015 to 2018.  In both instances support was quick and thorough.

Very much appreciate your reply. One of the reason we keep paying for GPUG.

    Hi Michael,

We've been using Config AD for several years now and it's great. They are a great company to work with and very responsive if you do have an issue. I've had to reach out to them when moving to a new server but that was only because I messed up.  I highly recommend them!

Sherrie  - let me ask you this - in today's non-AD world the Business analysts when troubleshooting issues will create an user ID similar to the person having a GP issue to attempt to recreate the issue. They are concerned that with ConfigAD they will be limited in debugging options. Any advice?

That's a good thought.  We have a test machine that does not have SSO installed for just that reason.  We also don't have SSO in place on our sql server, but you wouldn't want people using that for troubleshooting.

You can also configure the signon settings per user in ConfigAD.  The options are Standard, Single Sign-On, Single Sign-On Password Required.  So your business analyst could be set to Standard as needed and then they would be able to log in with any GP account.

We implemented Config AD several years ago and it works like a charm.  It was easy to set up and Fastpath's support is excellent!  This is the 3rd company that I have purchased and installed the product in.  You no longer have to reset passwords for user's who forget their password and you can administer security from the product as well.  I highly recommend the product!

+1 for Config AD here. No issues when upgrading but if something ever does come up, their support is amazing.

For issues w/ test users, you can setup GP users that DO NOT have Config AD assigned and can login just like they do currently w/ a GP User ID & PW.
You could ALSO setup a test Config AD account if you wanted & launch GP as that user (w/ SSO enabled).
