GP doesn't finish drawing the menu when switching companies

I've got one user that gets hung up when they switch companies. They can click on any shortcut on the left hand side, but the menus never finish loading, so they aren't able to do anything once they get there. I have to login to the terminal server and reset their session to get them back up and going.

I've tried resetting the user profile in windows and removing their homepage items, but nothing seems to help. I can't run GP Process Monitor while switching companies, and I don't think GP power tools logs during a company switch.

And also, frustratingly, it doesn't happen every time.

Has anyone see the below ever happen?

    @Steven Vallarian:

I would suggest disabling "Connect". It has been known to slow things down. it has made a difference for our users' screen loading time.

    Thanks

    Hi @Steven Vallarian

I agree with @Joni Finnell, Definitely have them turn off Connect and if they are not using it have them turn off Business Analyzer.

    Now, on to other questions.

Is it only the one user this is happening to?
When did this start, and did the start of this coincide with any new hardware or software or Windows updates or customizations?
When you say you "Reset" them in the Terminal server, what does that mean?  Are you resetting the GP Instance in the DYNAMICS..ACTIVITY tables or are you logging them out of the TS manually?
If it's manually, have you made sure this user is properly exiting GP and the TS?
Are they normally using the TS or is it a local install of GP or is it a deployed application (like Citrix?)

Let us know so we can help troubleshoot.

Yes, but he may be the only person switching companies.

We did recently upgrade to windows server 2016 on fresh clean windows install. I thought this may have something to do with workflow PO approvals but I can't seem to prove it.

I'm logging him out by killing dynamics.exe in task manager. He's got full desktop access in a full screen terminal server session.

    Steven,
Would you be able to check what's going on in the Process Monitor while the user is switching into the new company (I know it's quick, but you might be able to catch some valuable information).
@David Musgrave wrote a blog post about the opposite problem (too many menus loaded) a while ago : https://winthropdc.wordpress.com/2019/09/18/gppt-preventing-users-from-using-gp-until-login-has-completed/
You might be able to trace the problem by enabling a DEXSQL trace and look into the log file after the company switch..
