    We recently converted to GP 2016 R2 and I can no longer see Field Level Security under Administration >> Setup >> System.  Has it been moved?  I see it is checked under registration.

    Hi @Michael Garland

    Are you logged in as 'sa' and can't see it?

    If not, this may be permissions - log in as 'sa' and see if you can see the FLS.

    Hi Jo,

    I am assigned the power user role and have never had a problem with accessing field level security.  Just wondering if maybe in the jump from 2013 to 2016 Microsoft removed access to FLS for that role.  I will get someone to access with sa to see if it shows up in their menu.

    Thanks,

    The Security Task that assigns access to the Field Level Security window is ADMIN_SYSTEM_001. If you have this task assigned to your role already (You mentioned being a Power User), then it is probably not a permissions issue.

    Along with the information everyone has already stated, since you recently upgraded to Dynamics GP 2016, I would also mention the following if you haven't looked at it already:

    New Security Roles and Tasks are missing when upgrading to Microsoft Dynamics GP 2016 RTM
    https://community.dynamics.com/gp/b/dynamicsgp/archive/2016/06/17/new-security-roles-and-tasks-are-missing-when-upgrading-to-microsoft-dynamics-gp-2016-rtm

    While the security role/tasks for Field Level Security wouldn't be new to GP 2016, this will help verify you do have all of the new security roles/tasks that were added to GP 2016.

    Thanks

    @Michael Garland

    Do you have Advanced Security loaded?

    Field Level Security is still in the Advanced Security dictionary even though Advanced Security is no longer used.

    Do you have the following listed in your Dynamics.set launch file:?

    3104
    Advanced Security

    Thank you to
      @Jo deRuiter, @Mark LeRette, @Derek Albaugh, , for responding to my question about FLS.

    Tried the login as "sa" and can see it there but not under Power User role.  Thought maybe I was wrong in assuming that it was included for Power User, so I added ADMIN_SYSTEM_001 (as mentioned by @Mark LeRette) to another role and still unable to see FLS.

    asked "Do you have the following listed in your Dynamics.set launch file:?
    3104
    Advanced Security"

    I looked at the Dynamics.set launch file and this is included to load on launch.

    Hope to try @Derek Albaugh 's suggestion this week.

    Thank you,

    @Michael Garland

    If you have GP Power Tools installed it will be able to identify exactly what is going on very quickly with the Security Profile and Security Information windows.

    If you don't have it installed, install it and activate the free 30 day trial and then solve your issue.
