IV00101, Item Maintenance Screen and Currency Decimals

I am working on uploading a number of inventory items.  I am using Smart Connect to do this, but am having some difficulties with currency decimals.  I want the currency decimals on the item maintenance screen to show 4.  From my understanding this would be 5 in the deplcur field in inv00101 and the create item mapping.  As I look through the inv00101 table sometimes deplcur of 5 will result in a 4 for currency decimals and sometimes it will result in 5 for currency decimals.  Shouldn't a 5 in deplcur always be a 4 for currency decimals?

When running the smart connect map I can only get the currency decimals to end up being 5 on the item maintenance screen.

I can create the item by hand in GP and select whatever i'd like for currency decimals.

If decplcur is 5 for all your items in iv00101, I would check iv00105 and see if decplcur has the same value in that table.

The decplcur in iv00101 does match iv00105, however we have some that have a decplcur of 3 and some with a decplcur of 5....

I spoke too soon.  I had accidentally looked at my live DB instead of the test one i've been working in.  The items that i did import with smart connect got a decplcur of '5' on the iv00101 table, but a decplcur of '6' in the iv00105 table. The only mapping that i have is to the create/update item. Is there another place I should be mapping to?

I am not sure why this happens.  When I do an import using smart connect to the IV00101 I have learned to always import to the IV00105 table at the same time.  If I don't have prices I update the records with 0.

I'm assuming you have to assign a currency id then?

i've tried about everything i can think of and still can't get the darn currency decimals to be set to '4'.  I emailed eone and they responded asking me a question and have responded to my two emails afterward.....I tried to do this upload of inventory items as a macro too, but it constantly bombed out.  Any other suggestions on how to get this to work?  Would really be nice if smartconnect worked.

I just ran a test with smart connect 20.12.0.22 and GP 2010 SP4.

If I use 2 for DECPLCUR in the excel file used for the map, I get 2 decimal places in GP.  In the IV00101 table DECPLCUR is 3.  Smart connect is changing the value from the file to value GP uses on the IV00101 table.  It does the same thing for the IV00105.

So if you want 4 decimal places in GP, I think you should put 4 in the file you are using to upload.  The IV00101 and IV00105 table should then have 5 in the DECPLCUR column.

my iv00105 table is actually getting two rows.  one with a blank curncyid and decplcur = '6' and one with a currencyid and decplcur = '5'.  Any thoughts?  The iv00101 has deplcur = '5'.  Currency decimals on item card shows 5 (which would translate to a table value of 6 i believe)
