Hi Kurt,
Out of curiosity, I proceeded with checking out my GP2016 install - and got the same findings (i.e. same role / task).
Again, the reports only got associated to the task after the security update script was ran.
- New Security Roles and Tasks are missing when upgrading to Microsoft Dynamics GP 2016 R2 and Year-End Update (Updated: 2020 - 16.00.0864)

In case you're still not having access, then either update the task and manually add the access to the report or create a dedicated new task. For the latter, it needs to be either included in an existing role or a dedicated new role (to be later assigned to a user).
Here's a screenshot of the task settings referencing the 2 1099 NEC reports:

Ryan, Thanks, but unfortunately it's not that simple. The user already has ADMIN_PURCH_007* as part of their custom role. They can generate other 1099 forms, just not the Nonemployee Compensation form.

Hi Kurt,
Access to the following reports...
- 1099 Laser Nonemployee Compensation
- 1099 Nonemployee Compensation
... are provided by the following:
- Role = ACCOUNTING MANAGER*
- Task = ADMIN_PURCH_007*(access to
As a heads up, this testing was done on GP2018... By the way, I had to run a security update script too (please refer to link below):
* This task was one of the items modified by the script.

I should have noted that I have run the New Security Roles and Tasks scripts, https://community.dynamics.com/gp/b/dynamicsgp/posts/new-security-roles-and-tasks-are-missing-when-upgrading-to-microsoft-dynamics-gp-2016-r2-and-year-end-update, but we are using customized roles, so I need to identify the specific missing task so that I can add it to her role.

We upgraded to Dynamics GP 2016 R2 in Spring 2020 and are currently on 16.00.0864. Previously our purchasing clerk could generate 1099 Nonemployee Compensation forms but now gets a message saying she is "Not privileged to run this report." She has ADMIN_PURCH_007*, so what else does she require?
