Purchasing - When our vendors have an address with 4 lines, the final line is printing too low on the check.  Is there an easy way to fix this?  We don't have IS support.

Hi Kelley,

The definitive correction would be to change the address position using Report Writer, but that requires some familiarity with RW and is usually done by a Partner.  If you want to look at RW, print a report to the screen and click on Modify.  If you want to experiment with it, be sure to do it in a Test Company, not in your production data. 

But there are other RW considerations also.  The user will have to be given security access to the modified version before they can see the printed changes and those changes may only show up on the PC where the mods were created, depending on the location of your report dictionaries.

You mentioned that you don't have IS support, but this should be an easy change for your Partner.

If you are only moving the address it isn't hard, but you can mess up a check layout very quickly if you don't know the program.  I am a partner and if you have a few minutes to do a screen share I can help you with it.  Just let me know.

Our GP System Admin modified our check form, many years ago.  He could not get the form to 'look right' modifying for 4 lines.  As I remember, even 3 lines is suspect.

But working with the Report Writer is not difficult, for what you want to do.  Permissions have to be adjusted to use the modified form, as well as installing the form to each workstation.
