Printering with Mekorma

  • 1.  Printering with Mekorma

    Posted 13 days ago
After upgrading to GP2018 we are experiencing printing problem while printing AP checks with Mekorma.  When we print checks the system will crash prior to the Mekorma print selection window appearing.

We have talked to our Partner and Mekorma but with no success.  We have one user that can print without problems but none of the users that printed prior can print.

We are in a Citrix environment, GP2018 (not R2) and we have a combination of windows 7, windows 10 users and VMWare.  We have tried security change, tried on different PC.

    Hi @Carlos Cockerham

What version of GP did you upgrade from?

Hello @Jo deRuiter  we upgraded from GP2013 R2.... In order to upgrade to GP2018 we have to first upgrade to GP2016 then GP2018.

    @Carlos Cockerham:

What Mekorma build are you on? When we installed our last upgrade we had issues too. I'm sure Mekorma already checked this but I thought it wouldn't hurt to mention it. They have a different build for each version of GP. We also found that we had to reinstall Mekorma because it didn't like one of our add-ons. So, I have noted to install it last on our next upgrade. One last thing to check is to make sure that all of the printers are using the same driver.

    Thanks

Verify that the ME240470 table in the Dynamics database does not show an invalid file path. Even though the check library is now stored in the database for Mekorma instead of in a file location I have seen problems occur if that file path is pointed to a server that no longer exists or an invalid file path.

    Donny,

The ME240470 table doesn't have anything in it as path.

    Joni,

We are on build b070.  And the printer is a network printer installed on the citrix workstation.

I'll echo what Joni says here.  We also had trouble with it locking up the program.  We had to uninstall and reinstall in order to fix the error.  Now it's part of our upgrade testing to walk it through start to finish before we call the upgrade "done".

    Hello Carlos.
You have received some great assistance but I didn't know if you have solved this issue yet.

A couple of things to look at besides the great suggestions you have already received.
    1) Is the one successful user under a different ID than the unsuccessful ones?
When you go into Alternate/Modified Forms and Reports you can get these ID's.

    2) Also check the modified forms to make sure that after your upgrade that the modified check has still been chosen, or that the Mekorma MICR option is chosen under the Type - Windows selection.

I hope you get this solved soon.

    Steve,

The successful use is using the same id on the Alternate/Modified Forms windows.  And the security is set for the Merkorma windows

    Hello Carlos,

I would recommend you contact us (Mekorma Support) at support@mekorma.com in order to troubleshoot. Performance issues and problems exhibiting freezing and/or crashing behavior can be a result from a number of sources. One likely scenario we'll explore early on would be the use of Microsoft EasyPrint driver, known to be incompatible with the Mekorma Print Engine. We look forward to hearing from you to explore further and resolve the issue.
