@Terry Heley, do you know if there will be any changes in how we set up employees due to the upcoming changes in the W-4 starting with the 2019 tax year? If an employee chooses to submit a new W-4 and uses the new format, where will we put that information so that their payroll taxes calculate correctly? Any guidance you can provide will be greatly appreciated!

Hi Barbara, the changed were pushed to 2020 on the W4 form so we should not have to worry about it this year!

    Hi @Barbara Gavron,

Based on a call I was on earlier this week, we can expect an early draft of the 2020 W-4 in the March 2019 timeframe and a mostly-final draft at the end of May 2019. It looks like the new W-4 will be a major rework from the current one, but, the IRS is looking for ways to be backwards compatible so that you won't be required to have all employees complete a new W-4. Time will tell on that and we should have more information on this once the March draft is released.

    All the best!
