Payroll GL Distribution #Distribution

We are using Payroll along with Project Accounting to process payroll.

Each project has a department specific  - Project Accounts/Timesheets - posting table setup as defined by the Project class.

Occasionally, we will have a batch post FICA and Wages to our unspecified accounts, instead of the proper project class/posting tables.

Is it possible if I have 2 project classes / departments in the same batch, that is what triggers this improper posting?  Does it post the batch a whole, or per project?

We process almost 100 batches per week and may have 2 fail.   But, one group is failing more often than not recently.   Trying to narrow down, what triggers not posting to the correct GL when everything looks OK.

Futa, Suta, WComp all post correctly.

You can have as many different projects per batch. The distributions are created at the project/cost category level.
I have a customer using the same approach for payroll with over 5,000 projects within each batch of payroll.

You need to track back your transactions that have the errors and find the incorrect setting.
Look at what the distribution default entity is being pulled from within projects cost cat.

Back track to the default account that it is being applied to and work forward.
So if the default account is defined within the department, then something within that transaction has an incorrect setting or is set to department instead of Cost Category for example.

With out looking into the details, that is all I can tell you.
