To all of our Milwaukee/Madison GPUG friends!

In two weeks' time, the GPUG Green Bay
(Titletown, USA!) leadership team (@Pam Hall, @Donna Beaumier, @Sid Davis, @Tammy Corso, and I) will welcome you to our Q3 Chapter Meeting, once again at Lakeland University, 2601 Development Drive in Green Bay. You may register here!

Our theme this month is: GPUG Summit Presentation Sneak Peeks. Our FIVE presenters will show you the sessions they'll be giving at the User Group Summit North America from October 15-18 in Orlando, Florida. All our presenters will be eager to get your reactions.

Like our last two meetings, we have FOUR educational sessions in two tracks for you to choose from... plus a GPUG National Sponsor presentation. (Quick note: the National Sponsors are the ones that make it possible for us to offer you a free lunch!) Here's how these FIVE presentations shake out:

    1. @Jennifer Andreas, Alliance Manager for AvidXchange, a GPUG National Sponsor, will be flying in from North Carolina to start off the meeting with 5 Critical Questions Dynamics GP Users Should Ask Before Automating Their AP. These are the five questions that Jennifer will answer in her presentation:

      * Is AP automation a good fit for my company?
      * Will automation change the AP process we currently have in place?
      * How will AP automation work with my accounting system?
      * How does AP automation impact our bottom line?
      * What does the implementation process look like for AP automation?

Jennifer is responsible for developing and managing AvidXchange's strategic growth partners within the Real Estate market. She has over 18 years of experience in IT and change management. Her session is one of the Partner Solutions Showcases at Summit. (Full Schedule here)

    2. The next four presentations will be split into two tracks: Admin and Accounting. First up in our Accounting track, @Jo deRuiter of Aisling Dynamics will present her Summit session, The Little Known Modules in GP: Safe Pay, eReconcile, Interfund Management, Revenue and Expense Deferrals. From Jo's session description:

There is a ton of functionality Microsoft now includes in licensing for GP, many existing users and some who've used it a while don't even know they are there! Let's look at how to improve your work life and review these lesser known, but awesome features!

Jo is the most active GPUG member by far, posting answers in the Forum; teaching Academy classes; presenting at Chapter meetings in Green Bay, Milwaukee, Madison, and Chicago; and presenting at Summit. This year she's doing five Summit sessions! Jo won't be able to join us in-person, unfortunately, as she has a training session that begins 20 minutes after she's finished presenting remotely for us!

    3. The first presentation in our Admin track will be given by our host, @John Kirsch of Wipfli. John is a popular presenter at our Chapter meetings... he presented at our first one at Lambeau Field in January, 2017, as well as at our June meeting! He's presented at several GPUG Summits, and he's going to present SQL 101 for GP for us! From his Summit presentation description:

For GP admins, there is often a need for some basic SQL skills and knowledge. You may not have an IT background, but with some light training you can find the details on how to navigate SQL Server Management Studio and perform some valuable SQL tasks.

Even if you're not an administrator, everybody, it seems, is curious about SQL and about how it works. John is a great teacher.

    4. Our 2nd Accounting track presentation will be given by @Carol Kossoris of Heartland Business Systems' Pewaukee office. Carol is another popular GPUG Green Bay Chapter presenter. She last presented for us in March. Carol's Summit presentation she'll give us is Sales Order Processing (SOP) – It Can Do That?!! From Carol's Summit presentation description:

Are you using all the features Sales Order Processing has to offer? This session will cover some of the "not so obvious" features in the SOP module such as Process Holds, Drop Shipping, SOP-POP linking, Allocation/Fulfillment settings, shortage options, SOP-MOP linking, Extended Pricing, User Defined fields, etc.

At Summit in October, Carol will present this session with @Aleiha Hanson, the GPUG Milwaukee leader who, unfortunately, cannot present for us on the 18th. But Carol has enough GP experience for six people!
    5. Lastly, in our Admin track, I will be presenting my Summit session, Dashboard on a Dime II: The Second Part! At Summit, I'll be co-presenting this session with @Beat Bucher, a Swiss ex-pat who lives now in Montreal, Quebec. Last year we had a full house for the first version of this presentation. Here's a selfie with the crowd in Phoenix:

So this will be a sneak peek at "Part II," with enhancements and embellishments over last year's version. These are the learning objectives for this year's Summit session, and what I hope you'll come away with on September 18th:

      • Assemble and Deploy participant's own copy of the GP Admin Dashboard and GP License Analytics right after returning to work.
      • Dramatize and Visualize for the C-Level honchos how often and for how long you run out of available GP licenses
      • Survey and Control participant's GP Admin domain with the confidence gained from the knowledge that your GP Admin Dashboard is keeping track of things for you!

    So there you have it!
FIVE good reasons to come to the September 18th GPUG Chapter meeting at Lakeland University in Green Bay. Directions to Lakeland can be found on the meeting registration page. That's where you can register. We need to have you register so that we know how much food to serve for lunch!

Come join the throng in Titletown, USA, on Wednesday, September 18th!
