Brian, Bert, Sara, Jessica, & the rest of the excellent Minneapolis GPUG members,

I traveled to Wisconsin Dells on Tuesday & stayed the night in order to scope out the meeting rooms on Wednesday.

Quick notes: We will have the main ballroom + three Summit-sized breakout rooms for our three tracks of presentations. Instead of all gathering in one room for meals, we're going to make use of the buffet restaurant in the Casino for our lunches and Friday breakfast.

Here's what is being given to you as GPUG Members when you register for Level Up-Midwest:

    1) No registration fee for the event. We wanted to keep it that way for Members who pay no registration for our quarterly local user group meetings.
    2) Three meals included: Thursday lunch, Friday breakfast, and Friday lunch. No charge for Members.
    3) And the Hotel doesn't charge for parking. The Ho-Chunk Casino Hotel is built on 56 acres of land and the parking lot surrounds the complex. It's huge! Compare that to what you'd have to pay for parking at a venue like the Gaylord Opryland in Nashville for Summit!

Ho-Chunk is offering a very decent guest room rate for our Members, too: $89 for Thursday night (+ the usual hotel taxes) and $114 for Friday night (+ tax).

So your trip to Wisconsin Dells for our two-day event can be very economical! We simply ask that you pay attention to our need for you to register and to treat that registration as you would a wedding invitation. That is, if it turns out that you can't make it once you've registered, please let us know by Friday, April 10th. GPUG has a food contract with the Casino based on the number of attendees and we need to have as accurate a count as possible to keep costs down. Even though you're getting lunch at no charge (+ Friday breakfast!), there ain't no such thing as a "free" lunch! Thank you!!

We're hammering out the registration site and nailing down other details tomorrow morning. We know we have to move quickly and we're running as fast as we can to clear your path to registration for this fun event. Stay tuned!

    Sincerely,

The folks at DCI knew I was a dangerous dreamer.... I found my mate in Steve!!!!
It was always a dream of mine to do the following with chapters:
    * regional meetings - just like you are planning!!!!  Why not have great content all year with more peers!
    * chapters submit their best presentation of the year to be presented at GPUG Summit (get the local rockstars noticed)
    * chapters come with matching bowling shirts - you know - so when you see folks walking around they know the palm tree shirt folks are from California, snowflakes from Minnesota, etc.  A fun way to see chapters come in as a unit.... not to mention time together at the conference.  So many come as a lone person from their company - it would be great for them to find their "chapter family" quickly.

Still dreaming.  But thanks team for making one of my "wish list" items come true!!!

    @Kim Peterson, Dangerous Dreamer!

I certainly like the matching bowling shirts idea! Hats would be good, too! Heck, wearing @Leslie Vail's hat last year gave me the idea. We could make hats like Wisconsin taverns make Bloody Marys!

I'd recommend the hat idea because, like, you wouldn't want to wear the same shirt four days in a row, eh?

More details to come Real Soon Now!!

    Regards,
