If you missed our Q3 meeting last month, you missed a heck of a time! The get together was jam packed with some great content from our members and partners, followed by a game of Jeopardy with some generous prizes at stake. This was our first time meeting at the Ingleside Hotel in Pewaukee (this would be the old Country Springs Hotel that has been newly remodeled). I think I speak for all of the attendees in saying the venue is beautiful and lunch was quite tasty!
After a bit of Chapter business, we jumped into the learning portion with a presentation by @Carol Kossoris
about using the Mail Merge functionality of GP Macros. For those of you already utilizing basic Macros in GP - a mail merge macro is your next step and once you learn it, you won't be disappointed. Start by taking a look at Carol's slide deck where she included some detailed step by step instructions (access them HERE
) and if you need a bit more learning, search for one of the many webcasts on GPUG. Once you get the hang of them, you can easily update master records (and other tedious tasks) with a little help from Microsoft Word. @Aleiha Hanson
and I were able to sweet talk @Kathy Gross
of Goodwill of South Central Wisconsin into doing this quarter's member showcase session - she gave us a quick ten minute rundown about her company and how they utilize the different modules of GP. So, who wants to tell us about their company next quarter?
Our last educational session for this meeting was presented by @John Kirsch
from Wipfli where he dove into the details of setting up and the basics of using Workflows within GP. We had some great questions and discussion amongst the group and I think it got us all wondering where we can implement the workflows within our own business processes. See John's slide deck HERE).
After a quick lunch/networking break, we broke up into four teams and played a rousing game of GPUG Jeopardy. Thank you to our members and partners who graciously donated the prizes for our game - Crestwood Associates, Wipfli, DexPro, Goodwill and Heartland Business Systems. So tell us - were you one of the big winners?
We had a great turnout for this meeting - and a handful of new faces. We hope to continuing to see the new members at future meetings. Speaking of - mark your calendars for the Q4 meeting
on Wednesday, November 28th at the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (a member location!) in Milwaukee, WI. Why not register right now? Click HERE.
See you next month!
