Update Your Contact Details! New Forgot Password Process

As part of our recent website upgrade, we’ve enhanced the options available to you for regaining access to your account should you happen to forget your password.  With so many passwords to so many different online accounts these days, we’ve likely all been through the Forgot Password process a time or two (“Does this one need a symbol or prohibit symbols? Do I need a number in this one? Does it need to be at least 7 characters or 10? Capital AND lower case letters?”).  

We want to make it easy.  Now, you can provide your cell phone number and a secondary email address that you can use to reset your user group password should the need arise.  I encourage you to visit My Profile today and add these two pieces of information.  

Here’s how to quickly update your information:

Once logged into the site, visit Membership in the main navigation and choose My Profile.  From My Profile, select the Update Contact Details button.



Under the Cell heading, choose your country and enter your mobile phone number.  Once you do, you’ll see a Send Verification Code button appear. 



Click the button to have a code sent to the mobile phone number you entered.  Once you receive the code via text message, enter that code into the Validation Code box, and click Validate Code. 


Upon completion of these steps, you’ll see a notice pop up letting you know you’ve successfully verified this mobile phone number.       



On the same My Profile screen, you’ll see a new field entitled Secondary Email.  You may enter an alternate email address here that can be used to retrieve your password. pw5.png


Once you’ve entered this information, you’ll be able to use either of these methods in the future to reset your user group password. 


Here’s a look at the new Forgot Password process:


Click the LOGIN button in the top right-hand corner of the site, and then choose the Forgot Password link.


Enter the primary email address that is associated with your user group account, then click Continue.  You’ll now have 3 options for resetting your password – your primary email address, your secondary email address, or a text message sent to your mobile phone.  Choose your preferred option, and click Continue. 


If you’ve chosen to reset your password via one of your email addresses, you’ll simply follow the link in the email you receive to reset your password. 

If you’ve chosen the mobile phone option, you’ll be prompted to Send Verification Code.  Once you click this button, you’ll receive a code via text message that you will enter on this screen, click Validate Code, then click Continue.    


You’ll be brought to a screen where you can update your login credentials. 

It’s quick and easy, and will make your life easier if/when the day comes that you forget your password.  Go out today and update your Cell phone and Secondary Email address on your profile (trust me, it took you way longer to read this post than it will to actually update your information!)!
